Creating a region where it is easy to travel, work and do business.

Our goals for Hull and East Yorkshire are -

  • Improve public transport reliability and accessibility.
  • Make walking and cycling safe and convenient.
  • Strengthen freight links between ports, rail and roads.
  • Expand digital and mobile connectivity for everyone.

Across Hull and East Yorkshire busy city routes combine with rural roads, coastal links and market town networks. A good transport system must serve everyone – commuters, students, visitors and businesses – across our different landscapes.

A new Local Transport Plan will guide investment over the next decade, setting out a clear pipeline for bus, rail and active travel projects. This will include an Enhanced Bus Partnership to simplify tickets and timetables, and we will continue to push for rail electrification between Hull and Selby.

Connectivity also means digital connection. Investment in full-fibre broadband and 5G networks will connect our region, and investment in digital skills will mean our residents can more confidently use the online services and tools.

By improving how we move and communicate, we will make it easier for everyone to reach jobs, education and essential services. Most importantly, we will create a region that feels more closely connected.
