Homes are at the centre of our families and communities.

Our goals for Hull and East Yorkshire are -

  • Build more affordable and energy-efficient homes.
  • Regenerate brownfield sites and town centres.
  • Improve housing quality and reduce fuel bills.
  • Plan new developments that include green spaces and flood protection.

Hull and East Yorkshire’s natural setting is one of our greatest strengths. From the Wolds to the Humber estuary, our natural environment shapes the character of our communities.

As we grow, we will protect and enhance these assets, ensuring development respects the landscape and supports healthier living. Our new regional plan will give clarity to residents, developers and investors.

It will guide growth to the right places, connecting homes to jobs, transport and local services. We will back brownfield regeneration, improve older homes and promote innovation in construction to reduce bills and improve health.

Our ambition is to increase the supply of affordable homes, support first-time buyers and raise standards in the private rented sector.

By building homes in the right places, we can strengthen families, communities and our region’s future.
