A busy second week for the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority Mayor
Finished a busy week two doing one of the things I enjoy most - listening to local people who I’m here to work for. I met students from Bishop Burton College today. Look out for big news next week on skills!
I’ve also been working hard to start building up the combined authority’s capacity, had meetings on a huge range of topics, and a full-on day interviewing candidates to chair our Freeport. I was quizzing people on everything from sector experience to their skills managing stakeholders, and how they would approach making the Freeport even more influential in growing the local economy.
And I spent a lot of time preparing for a full-on few days at the UK’s biggest industry event for investment and regeneration in Leeds next week. I’ll be there with others to make sure we are fully on the map for potential national and international investors.
